The warranty I had on R1800 (can't remember brand was what B&H used at time) was not as good only paid like $425, on what was a $550 printer.ĥD Mark III Grip, 40D Grip, Canon 17-40 L, Canon 24-105 F4 L IS, Canon 70-200 IS II F2.8 L, Canon 100-400 L, Canon 50 F1.4, Canon 100 F2.List of USB ID's Maintained by Stephen J. At least that is the way I read their warranty hope that is right. With the R1900 I did buy the NEW extended warranty, so if it happens on this one they we pay full price to replace. I have the R1900 and love the results but think Epson needs to produce a printer so that this is NOT an issue. I gather the R2880 has teflon coated nozzles to try and stop the problem, although I imagine that pigment inks clog more than dye inks. Probably helped kill it in the end though.Įpson suggested then that I should print something at the very least once a week, even the nozzle test pattern would do. ![]() One one occasion I used half the ink and I swear I must have cleaned it 50 times, but eventually it cleared. In the past I've had two major blockages and Epson told me to ignore the manual, go straight to the printer and keep cleaning, time after time after time. I guess I should use more, but for orders with multiple prints cheaper to send to lab, but for just snap shots I do the same (lab).ĥD Mark III Grip, 40D Grip, Canon 17-40 L, Canon 24-105 F4 L IS, Canon 70-200 IS II F2.8 L, Canon 100-400 L, Canon 50 F1.4, Canon 100 F2.8, Canon 580 EX Plus I make sure I print at least a 4圆 every couple of weeks, just to keep ink flowing. Have read that problem is less likely with R1900 (I hope true), as they put beads in ink to help keep it from clogging. I have read that it was a problem with R1800, if not used regular. The printhead became clogged and couldn't be cleaned to restore good results. ![]() I'm not sure which of those most annoys me, so I limit ink cart changes to essentials only and never print anything borderless. Not sure if its a nappy or a waste ink tank like the 3800.Įvery ink cart change and borderless print wastes ink, it costs money and shortens the life of the printer. I understand that my current R2880 will do the same when the time comes, but Epson will offer a rebuild. My previous 950 died because its waste ink "nappy" got saturated to the point that the machine said "no more" and refused to do anything else. Would you mind telling me what went wrong with the 1800? ![]()
